Ponder This Question and Many More at Thinktank

Thinktank was our last stop in a short three-day holiday to Birmingham, where we went to see Oliver at the Hippodrome and spent a day at the Gadget Show Live. Throughout the week I was dying to know what Thinktank was going to be like, so we got up early in the morning to find out that the Birmingham Science Museum is brilliant!

There were activities ranging from an interactive intestine, to a robot that asks you if he’s sexy!

The planetarium, show was brilliant and seemed to have a small theme about “misconceptions”.

It managed to include humour, along with explaining how light and darkness are created, and also how solar and lunar eclipses happen, along with telling you the difference between them.

You walk out of the planetarium into a “space” themed room. Here you can control a moon rover and a spaceship, and find out what moon rocks feel like. Then you go into a futuristic world, with a drumming robot, a robotic face that gets you to guess what the expression on his face is, and loads of other things too.

Those were my favourite parts of the exhibition but there is so much more to see for all ages. In fact there are four floors of hands-on exhibits and historical collections that will amaze and inspire you, showing you the science of the world all around us.

If you’ve got time you could also watch a movie on the The Giant Screen at Millennium Point – it’s the Midland’s biggest screen and it’s huge!
